Seed Phrase
A list of ordinary words that serves as the master backup of a wallet and all its keys.
A seed phrase, also called a recovery phrase, is a sequence of 12 or 24 common words that a wallet generates when it is first created. From this phrase, the wallet can derive every private key it controls, which means the phrase alone can rebuild the entire wallet on any compatible device. That power makes it the single most important secret a holder protects. Because there is no central authority to reset it, anyone who obtains the phrase gains complete control of the coins, and anyone who loses it without a backup loses access forever. Seed phrases should be stored offline, physically, and never photographed, typed into websites, or saved in the cloud.
