Operational Security

The everyday habits and discipline that keep keys, devices, and information protected.

Operational security, often shortened to opsec, is the collection of routine practices that protect a person assets and information over time, rather than any single tool. For a Malairte holder or miner it means things like reaching official sites yourself, verifying downloads, keeping seed phrases offline, separating secrets so one breach is not total, locking devices, and not announcing holdings publicly. Good operational security assumes that mistakes and attacks will happen and arranges life so that no single failure is catastrophic. It is less about clever technology and more about consistent, calm discipline. Because attackers usually exploit human shortcuts rather than break strong cryptography, strong operational security is often the difference between staying safe and losing coins.
